On the banks of the North Yamhill River, in what remains of the old town of Pike, lies Wild Rain Farm, where we grow 12 varieties of lavender, bordered by dozens of varieties of poppies and 26 acres of wheat. There is also a display garden with single specimens of 43 lavender varieties. The main field of 2000 lavender plants overlooks a small park and beach on the banks of the river, where you can relax in chairs or at picnic tables. Bring your own picnic lunch or pick up snack at the festival in Beulah Park in Yamhill. Lavender lemonade and shortbread will be for sale at the farm during the festival.
Learn to make lavender wands, wreaths, and other crafts. Cut your own bunches of lavender, make your own sachets, or purchase fresh or dried bouquets. Dried loose lavender, wands, sachets, bath and skin products, essential oil, lavender blackberry jam, lavender jelly, lavender infused honey, lavender chocolate, fabric arts, and lavender plants will also be for sale. 20% of the proceeds from the farm sales and 100% of the proceeds from the craft lessons will be donated to Homeward Bound, a no-kill animal shelter in McMinnville.
